This classic fruity Speysider from the ‘heart' of the region, reaches its peak when matured in refill casks.  This cask being a perfect example of the make at its best.

A medium bodied, sweet distillate that flowers with fruitiness and honey was matured for 21 years in a single refill barrel but due to a leak in the cask the yield was very much lower than anticipated.

The cask yielded only 18 bottles and was bottled at natural cask strength 46.1%

The tasting revealed,

Nose - tropical fruits galore, crushed almonds and pine resin.

Taste - mouth coating with notes of milk chocolate and dried pineapple cubes

Finish - oak tannins, orange peel and a late nip of white pepper.

One of the most peaty and pungent malts produced on Islay, this has matured to reveal a fruitier and softer side of the make.

The cask yielded only 46 bottles in total and it was bottled at natural cask strength 42.80%.

Distilled 7th April 2004 and bottled on the 2nd November 2020.

Bottled especially to celebrate the opening of Hannah Whisky Merchants’ ware house and bottling hall in 2020.

A full bodied, dry and peaty distillate was matured for 16 years in a refill barrel but due to a leak in the cask the ABV and yield both dropped.

The Lady of the Glen acquired the cask and were incredibly impressed with spirit, noting the below tasting notes,

Nose - ocean breeze, air dried linen and hints of peppered smoked mackerel

Taste - BBQ honey coated nuts, chocolate limes and charred pineapple slices

Finish - long and lingering smokey sweetness, like honey on burnt toast.

Big Hearts Community Trust is the charity of Heart of Midlothian Football Club.

Through the power of football, Big Hearts aims to improve the lives of the most vulnerable families across Edinburgh.

The charity runs free programmes of support to address the main challenges in the community, including men's mental health, families in kinship care, older people at risk of dementia and children living in poverty.

This charity is of particular importance to Gregor as it supports the community where he grew up in Edinburgh.

The release was carefully selected with Big Hearts and Gregor from his portfolio of Lady of the Glen casks.

Around fifty litres of 14 year old Tomintoul that was matured in a hogshead was then finished in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry, sourced from the Josafer Bodgea in Portgual.

The yield was only 58 bottles which were bottled at cask strength.

The small size of the cask allows for a very heavy cask influence on the spirit. In addition, the octave was first fill meaning that this was the first time it contained Whisky so there would be additional sherry character added from the oak.

Tomintoul's Speyside distilate is usually light bodied, sweet with fruity, spice and honey notes. With the benefit a traditional maturation in a Hogshead these characteristics will have been mellowed and added to with vanilla, while the finish in an Ex-PX octave has added a concentration of dried fruits such as raisins, figs and dates which are typical of Pedro Ximenez.

The bottles are exclusively available on the Lady of the Glen website and all of the proceeds will go to the Big Hearts Charity
