Q4 Outrun 2024

The Lady of the Glen Q4 outrun has been released and its on the way to our stockists!

Q4 brings to a close 2024 and we are pleased to offer a diverse range of Whiskies that are each balanced and delicious. Within the outrun we have selected some exceptional ex-sherry finishes including the MacDuff, Glenlossie and Ardmore. A Maderia cask finish Loch Lomond (Inchmurrin) and a very interesting Mannochmore Hogshead with first fill bourbon barrel cask ends!

Lastly but by no means least we have 35 year old St Bridgets Kirk Blend!

All releases are available through our stockists and importers.

MacDuff 2009 15 years old

A rarely seen make in the independent bottler scene in recent years. This typically dry and nutty distillate has been matured in a PX cask that offered the spirit a lovely sweetness but without the strong tannins normally associated with type of cask.

Mannochmore 2014 10 years old.

Located on the same site as Glenlossie, this not well known unassuming Speysider produces a rich fruit character that pairs perfectly with a cask with a strong ex-bourbon influence. that’s exactly what we have here with a full maturation in a regular hogshead which had been coopered with very active fresh bourbon barrel cask ends

Loch Lomond (Inchmurrin) 13 year old

A light bodied distillate produced at high strength in Loch Lomond’s straight neck pot stills. Aged in a hogshead and finished in a first fill ex-Madeira cask for layers of caramel, walnut and citrus.

This distillery is famous for its ability to consistently produce many different styles of spirit including grain spirit too. Inchmurrin is one of their lighter styles distilled in straight neck still with a higher cut point producing a light fruity style. This combined with well over a year finish in a Madeira cask has produced a lovely toffee and caramel character.

Glenlossie 2013 11 years old

A light bodied distillate with floral and fruity notes. Matured in a Hogshead before being finished for over 3 years in a 1st fill Hidalgo cooperage ex-Oloroso cask.

A fairly modern style of Speyside whisky where the vast majority of output is destined for blends, we rescued this cask from mediocrity. More than 3 year finish in our famous oloroso cask sourced from Hidalgo cooperage in Spain has offered the spirit a softer side of ex-sherry with more of a toffee and caramel character rather than the expected Christmas cake and dried fruit notes..

Ardmore 2014 10 years old

A lightly peated spirit with notes of woodsmoke, apple and a slight floral character. Matured in a hogshead and finished for 3 years in a First Fill Oloroso cask.

The only Highland distillery producing peated whisky consistently from the start and even in this modern age, this is unusual for the region. This refill hogshead was re-racked into a fresh ex-Oloroso cask for over 3 years providing notes of dried fruit and chocolate to the mix.

North British 1998 26 Year old. Big Hearts release

Fully matured in its original Oloroso cask for all of its 26 years, this old single grain whisky has been rescued from blended whisky obscurity and bottled by us right at its peak. This is our charity bottling this year where all profit from the bottles will go to our charity partner Big Hearts Community Trust who are based out of Tynecastle Park, conveniently next door to the North British distillery.

Royal Brackla 2013. Myosotis release.

Myosotis – this forget me not release has been partially bottled in the past and we bottled the last of it now.

Our latest ‘Myosotis’ bottling – the Latin name for the ’Forget-Me-Not’ flower. This is the perfect name for this bottling as it is a result of the remnants of a cask previously bottled to meet an exact yield. On this occasion, we have a whisky that has spent 4 years in an ex-peated whisky cask that has added layers of smoke and peat to the fruity spirit.

St Bridget’s Kirk

Blended Scotch 1988. 35 years old

This exceptional blended scotch whisky is created in our unique and special way by blending malt and grain whiskies from different distilleries and differing spirit styles. Each batch is small, bespoke and distinctly different from the last. Bottled and hand labelled in our own warehouse where you’ll be glad to know, no artificial colouring or chill-filtration takes place.

The latest edition to our blended Scotch brand family is a ‘classic blend’. By this we mean a mix of malt and grain whiskies blended in the tradition style. In this case we have a selection of whiskies that have been blended when they were young and married back into a refill butt for a very long time, presumably intended to be bottled one day as an old and premium blended scotch from one of the famous blending houses. Thankfully we have managed to rescue a cask of this blend and present it in very limited form.

The taste offered – Blood orange, custard creams, furniture polish, black pepper, hazelnut and dried coconut.
